Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, developed (and now published) by Gellyberry Studios is a free-to-play MMORPG that dips its toes into the old-school waters of games like RuneScape. With a bit of an “acquired taste” art style, Eythrial challenges players to survive in a world ravaged by civil war.

You’ll be walking (slowly) around the world trying to team up with others (almost required) and working your stats (yes, they actually matter here), all in an effort to rebuild the world, literally. There is no instanced player housing here. Get materials, craft weapons, and stake a claim to land right in the world to call home.

Featuring both PvE and PvP content, including open world PvP where yes, you can lose your loot unless you have a friend grab it, Ethyrial wants to be your replacement for games gone by.

Currently the game is undergoing a drastic number of changes to model, publisher, staff, et plus. This results in the devs being rather forthright in saying that updates will be few and far between during this transition, so stay tuned to the game’s site for updates on future content.
