Have you ever played a team-based tactical shooter and thought, “If I had more players like me on this team we would have won”? Those of you that are good at them probably have said that more than once. Interestingly, Mountaintop Studios is giving you the chance to have more of the team’s performance depend on you by introducing a “Duality” mechanic. You’ll actually control two bodies at the same time.

Spectre Divide, which was assisted in development by streamer and shooter game pro Shroud, puts two teams of 3 in a battle for supremacy, but has each player carrying a “puck” they can use to spawn a second version of their character complete with its own loadout. Toss the puck to a location, spawn a Spectre, and swap back and forth as you see fit. Get into that perfect position to flank opponents, use a Spectre as a scout that will warn you when enemies are near it, or create the perfect triangulation with you and your teammates.

While Spectre Divide’s anime-inspired art may not be for everyone, Spectre Divide is spending resources to ensure that the 3v3 ranked experience fosters a growing competitive scene for those that want a bit more importance on matches.

And hey, it’s nice to know that a single death isn’t enough to put you out of a round since your Spectre needs to be taken down, too! We all love “second chances.”
