Now that Steam Next Fest has officially begun, users of the platform can begin browsing and trying out an endless selection of games to find the next addition to their library. In this case, developer and publisher NIRVANA brought its free tactical strategy role-playing game Annulus to Next Fest. In this dark fantasy game, players take on the role of a mercenary captain. They collect weapons and resources as well as mercenaries who they then train to build their own legion. As they progress, the mercenaries under the player’s command evolve, with some even taking on new forms inspired by their stories.

Combat in the game is affected by things like weather, elements, day/night cycles, terrain, und mehr. To progress, players must take all of these factors into account.

As for the narrative, the game features multi-tiered narratives, meaning the player’s choice has an impact.
