Riot today released For Demacia, the first season of League of Legends in 2026. This new season has seen the military kingdom of Demacia expand its influence across Summoner’s Rift, changing the map and introducing new features like Petricite Towers and gold-winged accents. The update also brings the Shyvana update that players have been waiting for with Act 2. This includes new visual elements for their human and dragon forms, as well as minor changes to their equipment.
Another feature introduced to the free-to-play MOBA in this update is the new metagame Demacia Rising, which allows players to experience the kingdom’s evolution from a small settlement to an entire nation. The metagame will change throughout the season and will be updated regularly.
With today’s update, further changes and additions are no longer necessary. These include new map features such as Faelights, updates to Swiftplay and Ranked, and changes to role quests. For a full overview of the changes, see the patch notes on the League of Legends website.
