EverQuest 2

EverQuest and EverQuest 2 players noticed something was missing and weren’t satisfied with the answer when they asked where they were. The missing items are: Roadmaps for 2026 for the free-to-play MMORPGs.

When players began inquiring about the status of the roadmaps, a senior community manager took to the forums to explain, telling players that their questions had been seen and that the team had “forgone a roadmap this year” because they “want to avoid the redundancy of posting the same information over and over again and would much prefer to post articles closer to the time something happens.”

As expected, the reaction from players wasn’t exactly positive, with many pointing out that less communication wasn’t better. Others noted that many players don’t care about individual updates and that the roadmap is the only way to know what’s going on with the game.

This prompted studio head Jenn Chan to make a post on the games’ forums sharing some plans for the year. This includes two game updates for EQ2, new content on the Origin servers and various quality of life updates. Based on the post, it seems that things are not as bad as players imagined. Although they’re probably right if they don’t keep up with the regular news posts on gaming sites.
