The next season of Torchlight: Infinite is scheduled to begin on April 16th. When it launches, it will introduce a whole new gameplay loop to the free-to-play ARPG and give players a new way to get loot. The season titled Lunaria features a mechanic of the same name. “Lunar” will appear in different ways in the description here, but effectively players use moon rings to awaken moonstone statues and fight Lunari creatures. Defeating the creatures earns players loot and energy. The new energy will allow players to awaken more moon statues.
The gameplay system also features Lunar Omens and Rhapsodies, which have different effects on encounters. An example is Lunar Radiance, which causes a golden statue to appear on the map. This statue offers players more loot than the regular ones.
The “Creation Engine” will also be introduced in the new season. Guarded by Creation Sentries, these machines are scattered across the map and offer great rewards when defeated. The loot is obtained from the creation crystals in the area, the shape of which changes once all mobs associated with the creation machines are killed.
Players can also look forward to new hero Scent Weaver Sage. This elixir-based healer can adjust her potions mid-battle, changing their stats and effects. It has two specialization paths: Scholar and Mad Scientist. The Scholar maximizes health and mana, while the Mad Scientist allows him to carry an additional attack flask.
