With the arrival of Marvel Rivals’ sixth season, Deadpool has been added to the free-to-play game’s roster of heroes. As the first character in the game to be playable in all three roles, Deadpool is certainly one of the most unique additions to the roster to date. If you want to start playing this hero, it will certainly be helpful to know how his abilities work in different roles. Luckily, this guide covers everything you need to know about Deadpool’s hero gear, team-ups, and gameplay tips for Marvel Rivals.
Deadpool’s Hero Equipment and Abilities, Explained

Deadpool is the first “Flex” hero in the game and can be played in any of three roles. Depending on whether you choose Vanguard Deadpool, Duelist Deadpool, or Strategist Deadpool, the character will have slight variations in their abilities from their main loadout.
In addition, Deadpool can receive charges during the game, which he can then use to open his book and improve his abilities. To gain the attack, you must deal damage to the enemy, secure kills, or accumulate heals on your teammates. Each upgrade strengthens an ability of your choice from Deadpool’s gear into a stronger variant, meaning you’ll be rewarded with power-ups if you perform his gear/playstyle well.
Some of Deadpool’s abilities are also present in all three of his kits. Here’s a breakdown of all the skills that remain the same or nearly the same across all three roles:
Dangerous machinations – secondary fire
Dash towards an enemy and knock them down when hit. With a successful hit, you can refresh the ability up to two times, for a total of three dangerous Hijinks hits. When assisting Deadpool, Hazardous Hijinks also applies 45 healing.
Upgrade! – F ability
Deadpool earns XP by healing his allies, hitting enemies, and securing kills. He can then use this XP to improve his skills via his Upgrade Book. Additionally, whenever Deadpool kills an enemy, he has the option to take a selfie with their corpse. Deadpool can become immune for a few seconds when taking a selfie with the enemy, making it incredibly valuable for surviving certain ultimates. However, to take a selfie, you have to kill an enemy player and get the final hit, resulting in their death. The F prompt will then appear over her body.
Deadpool Near You – E Skill
Taunt enemies by bringing Deadpool-style visual clutter to their screen and applying chip damage to their health. During this phase, Deadpool’s swords and pistols are switched to “Turbo”, resulting in a higher rate of fire and increased damage output.
Bunny Bounce / Healing Hop – Space
Deadpool can double jump in mid-air and jump off walls. During the ultimate Big Test, he can also bounce off enemy or friendly heals or walls to reset the ability’s cooldown. For Strategist Deadpool, this ability becomes Healing Hop, it also heals and turns the next basic katana attack into a stab.
Healing Factor – Passive ability
If Deadpool is out of combat for 5 seconds, the healing factor kicks in, restoring 25 health per second. If Deadpool takes more than 200 damage within a two-second window, his healing factor will immediately activate at an increased healing rate of 50 health per second.
Maximum Flair – Passive ability
The ultimate ability can be unlocked after achieving an S rating. The rating will be cleared if Deadpool is defeated. Deadpool collects his ultimate through style points alone. Every time you assign an ability to an enemy, you gain style points that increase the rank of your ultimate ability. Once you get an S rating, you can unleash the ultimate on anyone. However, if you die, the scoring restarts.

Deadpool tips and tricks

- Deadpool’s Photo Mode can be used to take massive damage for a short period of time, making it perfect for powering through/”tanking” certain ultimates. These include Magneto, Namor, Iron Man, Phoenix and more.
- It’s important to learn when to switch between Deadpool’s weapon types. This allows you to create different combinations as you dash in and out of medium close range. His pistols are great for applying pressure to stab behind cover or fire fliers, while his katanas are great for charging and making kills.
- Vanguard Deadpool can increase his rate of fire with weapons after hitting his E ability, allowing him to temporarily put even more pressure on enemies.
- While each team can only choose one Deadpool role, the player playing Deadpool is free to switch between any of their three roles at any point during the game. This allows you to adjust your team composition as needed while maintaining the same type of skill equipment in the game
