Where Winds Meet Whitecrown Fortress Great Protector of Anxi cutscene

Where Winds Meet has a lot of content published regularly in updates. With the release of the latest update, players with the Hexi Jade Pass will gain access to a new area as well as some new quests to take part in to get their hands on more gear and upgrades. One of these quests is the Whitecrown Fortress quest, which unlocks the battle for the Iron-Blooded Prince. This guide will help you complete this quest successfully.

Start of the Whitecrown Fortress quest.

To begin this quest, you will need access to the Hexi-Jade Gate Pass, which you can obtain by advancing the game’s main story. Once you arrive, you’ll have a few more objectives to complete until the area opens for exploration. When everything is available to you and traversal of this new map is permitted, you can make your way to the eastern part of the map. There will be a fortress here. Approach the fortress, but be careful as you approach it.

As you approach the gate, a Skeletal Bloom boss will spawn to fight. This boss is not much different from the smaller mob versions of the boss found on the map. Many of its attacks are made with its tail, with sweeping and striking attacks from the enemy being quite common. While the boss itself isn’t very difficult, be careful when attaching it yourself. If you get too close, the camera will tilt up, obscuring most of her attacks.

Entering the Whitecrown Fortress

After defeating the Skeletal Bloom, approach the gate and talk to the guard through the opening. They will briefly talk about how their armor is broken and your banner is missing. Here, select the “Insist Entry” dialog option and enter the city to explore the secrets within.

Follow the path that takes you further into the fortress and heads east. At the end of the path you will meet the Great Protector of Anxi. He will start a boss fight with you and during the fight he will summon some of his guards to keep the pressure on your character. Both he and his guard will use long-range attacks to keep you under pressure, but both can be parried to protect themselves. Once you’ve used up most of the boss’s health, you’ll be kicked out of the fortress and given a new target.

Looking for the scattered military flags

After being expelled from the fortress, you must track down and find five military flags scattered around the map. These won’t be marked on your map when you open it, but luckily they will be marked on your HUD and will show you the distance to you. Finding all five flags is fairly easy. No entanto, collecting them all essentially gives you a tour of the entire map. Make sure to use the golden path with this area’s new mount form to quickly move between locations. Once you have all the flags in your hands, return to the fortress gate.

Collect the fortress flags

When all the flags are collected, enter the gate again. Here you have to collect the remaining flags on the way towards the city center. By interacting with these flags, the process of viewing the events that took place within the fortress begins. The first is at the beginning of the path. Interact with him to begin the next phase of this flag’s memory.

From here you will be taken into the grain tower and follow a soldier to a table. After writing the letter at the table, take it to Yuan Ping’an and go through the door behind him. This will trigger an event where you have to hold on to the foot of the giant soldier as he falls through the ground. Interact with the flag on his boot to continue.

After the events in the Grain Tower, you can continue down the path to the next flag on the left. After interacting with the flag, you will enter a new section where you must manipulate the environment to progress. Flip the debris on the roof several times so that you can get a roof closer to you with a ballista. When you’re done, use the ballista to defeat the siege monsters flying around the rubble.

This will happen again and you will need to manipulate the rooftops behind you to fall deeper and activate another ballista. After the second shooting stage is complete, turn the roofs over again and drop onto the wall to help the soldiers defeat the remaining siege monsters. When you’re done, you’ll need to grab onto the same roof you used to drop onto the wall, grab the falling flag, and end the sequence.

Where Winds Meet Whitecrown Fortress Grand Protector of Anxi Boss Fight

When the sequences representing the past events are complete, you can move down the path to place all seven collected flags. With this done, you can finally take on the Great Protector of Anxi again. This time he will have two phases and can still summon his guard to help fight you. As before, the guard is only temporary and can be parried along with the boss itself. In this fight, stay defensive and parry as often as possible. When he moves into phase two, he becomes the Iron-Blooded Prince with an even more aggressive moveset. After his defeat, you will receive a record of the Whitecrown Fortress and the events that took place, allowing you to return to the location to receive daily rewards for boss fights.
