As we all know, Jagex has made some big changes to RuneScape to improve the game and future-proof it a bit. In the last few months, they’ve removed Treasure Hunter microtransactions, adjusted the Premier membership model, made the original fighting styles easier to learn, などなど. This week, the developers of the free-to-play MMORPG continued their efforts by detailing their plans for the month of April in a new developer video.
The nearly 20-minute video begins by explaining developer goals and how they determine what they want to achieve. These are the same goals they listed when they announced their work earlier this year. They then explained in detail the impact of the changes made so far. This includes the early rebalancing of the game and how some of their changes resulted in them having to make tweaks to the game’s AFK system.
If you’d rather skip the recap and go straight to what they’re working on, you should skip to around 13:11 分. There they begin to talk about the coming month and cover it week by week. The first week is about Blooming Burrow and the cosmetic switch. With the seasonal event canceled this week, they noted that changes have been made to the events in general to make them less strenuous. With the cosmetic switch they offer a little more control.
Week 2 will feature bug fixes and the developers will provide players with information about graphical rendering fixes in the community topic. In Week 3, the Aura rework update will be released. Players can also expect additional bug fixes this week and the community topic will cover the results of the quarterly survey.
ついに, the developers will offer updates to the Game Jam in Week 4. There will once again be more bug fixes. And the community topic will cover the player avatar.
