Marvel Rivals s7 hero buffs and nerfs

Marvel Rivals Season 7 is finally here! This season, fans of the free-to-play team shooter will get the newest hero, White Fox, in the Strategist roster, a new map, new mechanics, additional mechanic changes, a new Battle Pass, a new wave of hero skins, and of course a bunch of new seasonal balance changes!

This series of hero balance changes sees some interesting nerfs, improvements and adjustments made to characters across all three roles (Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist). You may be wondering which heroes on the roster are most affected. Well, you’re in luck. Here are the main buffs and nerfs in Marvel Rivals Season 7.

Hulk can secure his ultimate faster

Hulk – Marvel Rivals

In Season 7 of Marvel Rivals, Hulk is receiving some upgrades to his ultimate charge that will make it easier to earn. This change comes as an optimization to the damage absorbed of his Indestructible Ward, increasing the ability charge conversion rate from 100% to 130%. Additionally, Hulk’s Gamma Burst gains two charges, each with a six-second cooldown. Single hit damage is reduced from 75 to 65 and Gamma Burst’s cooldown after each use is reduced from 6 seconds to 2 seconds.

Essentially, Hulk will have more frequent access to some of his cooldowns and will be able to accumulate ultimate charge much more quickly and consistently. It’s a pretty solid boost to the Vanguard across the board.

Emma Frost gains survivability and ultimate customizations

Emma Frost

Emma Frost is getting some adjustments, reducing her diamond damage reduction from 70% to 50%. However, Marvel Rivals also adjusts the damage falloff of Emma Frost’s Psionic Seduction (ultimate ability) at 30m from 50% to 70% and nerfs the ability slightly. Additionally, Emma Frost now receives a 20% damage reduction when using her ultimate.

This means Emma Frost’s ultimate ability gets increased survivability but a damage nerf. The changes made to the diamond shape also give it a survivability nerf. Overall, it seems like some fair changes are being made to balance Emma, considering she’s never been “bad” since release and has been overwhelmingly strong and at the top of the meta quite often.

Black Panther is receiving several buffs after faltering in the previous season

Black panther

Black Panther has previously been hit with some pretty significant nerfs, and as a result, Black Panther has diminished greatly as a viable choice. With the arrival of Season 7, he finally returns to the game with some pretty damn remarkable improvements. From now on, Black Panther will have no cooldown for jumping after disengaging from a wall.

Based on player feedback from the Season 7 Early Access playtest, Marvel Rivals developers have also decided to implement additional buffs for Black Panther. He now has a new effect on his spinning kick, where the striking motion is in all directions, increasing the play potential. Spinning Kick’s damage is slightly increased from 70 to 75 and Spear Toss’ recovery time per charge is reduced from 6 seconds to 5 seconds.

Scarlet Witch is receiving a strong buff for Season 7

Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch is getting major improvements across the board! In Season 7, her left-click, Chaos Control, deals increased damage to enemies in close proximity. This ability now has damage reduction for better balance, starting at 10m and decreasing to 90% at maximum range. Base damage increased from 80/s to 85/s, which would be 76.5/s at 20m.

Her right-click, Cthonian Burst, can now be used more frequently thanks to buffs that increase the charge from Chaos Control hits from 0.1 to 0.15, helping Wanda deal more damage and have a much greater impact at close to medium range.

Daredevil hits with another wave of nerfs after staying strong

Daredevil

Daredevil has been pretty much the strongest Divelist on the roster since his release. After initially being overwhelmingly strong across all competitive ranks, he received some nerfs in previous balance adjustments. However, Daredevil has proven that he’s still going strong after these nerfs, so Season 7 hit him with another wave in hopes of better balancing the hero.

According to the developers, Daredevil’s durability and damage output will be affected. Devil’s Chain final damage reduced from 35 to 25. Devil’s Chain maximum bonus health reduced from 125 to 100. Finally, Sonic Pursuit’s damage reduction is also reduced, from 20% to 10%.

Human Torch receives massive ammo recovery buff

Human Torch

The poor Human Torch has been in a pretty tough spot for some time now. So far, Johnny has been either completely overpowered or completely underpowered, relying on team-up skills to be even effective. It’s made him something of an all-or-nothing character throughout competitive seasons, with the final stage trending close to “nothing.”

In Season 7, Human Torch receives a massive ammo buff, giving it both more uptime and more damage potential. Now Johnny instantly restores all Fire Cluster ammo energy after not using Blaze Cluster for a second. It has been noted that further improvements will be made to Human Torch as the season progresses.

Blade receives buffs in both melee and ranged combat

Marvel Rivals Blade

Blade is another character who has balance issues. If he is outvoted, he can be completely overwhelmed. However, Blade has struggled to perform consistently over the past few seasons due to various updates and balance adjustments.

In Season 7, both Blade’s melee and ranged damage potential will be increased. Hunter’s shotgun projectile speed increased from 150 m/s to 180 m/s. The attack range of the Ancestral Sword is increased from 4.5 m to 5 m. Bloodline Awakening receives a new effect where excess lifesteal now grants additional health (maximum 75; conversion rate 50%). Increase life drain rate from 65% to 70%. His ultimate ability, Thousandfold Slash, also receives a new effect where the lifesteal effect now works without going into Bloodline Awakening and can also be converted to bonus life. Increases healing reduction on enemies from 20% to 40%.

Deadpool is receiving minor nerfs that will make a difference in all three roles

Deadpool Marvel Rivals Pirate Skin

Finally, Deadpool receives slight nerfs in all three roles, helping him to be better balanced overall. On Vanguard, Deadpool’s survivability and ult frequency are affected, with Deadpool In Your Area – Vanguard (Upgrade)’s damage reduction reduced from 40% to 30%. In Duelist, Deadpool actually gets a small increase in health from 250 to 270, but his ultimate is nerfed again, with a cooldown increase from 45 seconds to 60 seconds. Finally, Strategist Deadpool’s Ultimate Frequency was hit again with the same mitigation as Duelist Pool’s Ultimate Frequency, and the cooldown was increased from 45 to 60 seconds.
