Global MapleStory is turning 21, and apparently Nexon has decided that the best way to celebrate the free-to-play MMORPG is to send everyone to school. というか, they announced “The Maple University” event with “extracurricular” activities and special progression mechanisms.

イベント期間中, players spend their time on campus attending lectures to earn credits and campus points. もちろん, these can be exchanged for special rewards. As players do their best to survive the semester, they unlock buffs and a special ability called “Rowdy Campus Live” that earns them massive XP.

もちろん, the school wouldn’t be a school without activities and rivalries, which is why the celebration also includes a “Monster Election.” Players join a team and collect glow sticks through mini-games or by defeating monsters. The glow sticks are used to vote for candidates and unlock growth benefits.

Since it is a university, players also need a student ID. A visit to Dean Pink Bean allows players to craft a custom Maple U-ID using “memories” obtained from defeated monsters. そしてはい, there are rewards here too.
