Bob Ross Fortnite

Somehow I either missed (or simply forgot) the fact that Fortnite players were introduced to the work of painter Bob Ross through a game called Bob Ross Tycoon. Since the project launched in Fortnite last August, players of the free battle royale have spent more than 120 million minutes on it. (According to calculateme.com, that’s 228,159 years.)

Now Bob Ross, 株式会社. has announced the launch of Bob Ross Games, a collaboration with Chartis that will serve as the hub for three new experiences in Fortnite. Built in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), the studio offers players the opportunity to immerse themselves in the artist’s world and mind by literally jumping into his landscapes. プレスリリースによると, the project will “[give] a new generation the opportunity to be Bob Ross, いわば, and to discover the joyful, patient and creative part of themselves.”

The project now starts with the release of the first of the three titles, Joy in painting. Players can explore the interior of a Bob Ross landscape. This also includes the happy little trees. Players can use brushes and special prompts to help them create their own artwork in a multiplayer environment.
