Visual overhaul of RuneScape

Jagex has been pretty busy on RuneScape this year, continuing the year-long Road to Restoration launched as part of the MMORPG’s 25th anniversary. The latest step in this year-long project is a visual overhaul of the game’s player avatars. According to the company, this is the game’s biggest visual overhaul in the last decade. Es ist ein “complete, modern refreshof playersfavorite characters.

The rework introduces a “refined, more realistic avatar head and body model” and matching chatheads. There are also new hairstyles for both genders, while existing ones have been optimized. Interessant, this is just the first step and players can expect more in the fall.

Wie erwähnt, the latest update is just part of what Jagex has been working on for the game. Some changes are already available, with more to come. This includes everything from changes to the game interface and a rebalancing of early gameplay to the removal of Daily Scape activities.

Many of these changes are based on player feedback and are undoubtedly aimed at future-proofing the game and giving players what is most attractive now, rather than ten years ago. The goal of the visual makeover is to enhance the overall impression. This includes removing certain items and cosmetics that are out of theme.
