First Crystalfall update

Despite garnering a lot of attention during Steam Next Fest, Crystalfall hasn’t achieved the success that CRG Studio would have hoped for since Early Access began. Momentan, the free steampunk-themed ARPG has a little less than 500 Bewertungen, most of them negative. The complaints revolve around things like a lack of engaging content, the overall quality of life, Und (what seems to be most important) the game’s monetization. A cursory look at the reviews revealed that several players are having an issue with the cost of inventory tabs.

CRG Studio today announced plans to address these issues with the game’s first content update on June 4th. The update will introduce new content “while deepening the overall progression systems” and introduce a “changeable endgame.” A list of features in the press release includes 57 new unique items and skills, 7 new mobs, a skill quality improvement mechanic, a more customizable talent tree with multiple-choice nodes, various endgame anomaly rarities, lootable endgame cargo items, and cargo quest objectives. In Sachen Lebensqualität, players can look forward to a loot filter, the ability to purchase a shard supply rider (note that it is a supply rider), and the beginnings of a WASD motion control option. Natürlich, there are also the standard balance and performance updates.

To address the monetization concerns, the developers have provided a completely separate list of their activities. This includes the following:

  • The new Patch 1 cosmetics will be added to Founder’s Packs.
  • The Gold Foundersnames will be immortalized in-game on a Founder’s Stone when the game is officially released.
  • Der $20 inventory tab cost will be permanently reduced from 150 Zu 75 In-Game-Credits ($7.5).
  • An in-game top-up option of 50 credits will be introduced.
  • The Platinum Founder Pack will no longer be available for purchase.
