Hotta Studio has released Neverness to Everness’s first content update since its release a few days ago. In addition to additional story content and new playable characters, it brought new co-op content and the free open-world game’s first community event with Porsche.
This isn’t the first time a gacha game has collaborated with a car company. Zenless Zone Zero did one with Aston Martin last year. While I love ZZZ and the Victoria Housekeeping faction they’ve associated the collaboration with, a car-related collaboration (of any kind) makes more sense in NDE. Enfin, players actually drive in NDE, collecting and modifying vehicles for racing.
So it wasn’t really surprising that Hotta Studio organized a collaboration event with Porsche before the game’s release. Cependant, it was a little surprising that they decided to start with the game’s first update, especially since the event is its own special series of gacha pulls and it would take place alongside the run for a character that a lot of people want because she’s adorable and apparently is a pretty good teammate for some characters.
So some of us thought we had to choose between Lacrimosa and the Porsche collaboration. Cependant, at least in my experience, this is not the case for several reasons.
D'abord, NTE’s entire gacha system works differently than we’re used to. There is no such thing as 50/50. No matter which character you roll for, you are guaranteed to reach the dice within 90 dice rolls. À 70 the board changes to increase your chance of landing something good. Deuxième, you don’t just roll for the character. When each new character’s banner appears, it is accompanied by a personalized glider, vehicle paint job, and an outfit that can only be obtained by rolling. Le truc c'est, each of these items is simply gifted to players after they roll the dice a certain number of times, regardless of whether they get them by chance or not.

Bien sûr, players still have to roll for the Arcs, which represent character weapons, and that requires a different in-game currency. But the system guarantees that if you get an S-rank weapon in one roll, it’s the weapon you’re looking for. So far since the game’s release I’ve managed to give every S-rank character their own banner.
Maintenant, as already mentioned, the Porsche collaboration is its own gacha event. But it’s different. Tout d'abord, while players can use the game’s gacha-specific currency “Annulith” to grab items in the Porsche event, they are not required to do so. There is an option to use the game’s main currency, “Fons,” instead. Certes, you need a lot of Fons. But if you’ve been playing since release, it’s not so bad.
The event offers fifteen different rewards for players to roll for. You can only receive each of these rewards once. Of course there’s the car and the collab outfit. There are also other “cosmetic” items such as a name card and an avatar frame. Some currencies necessary for leveling are also included. And two of the rewards give players a total of 600,000 fons. Players also receive fabricated dice to use on the standard gacha board.
As a reward is received, it is checked off and the pool shrinks while the number of Annulith or Fons needed to re-roll the dice increases.

The last part might seem really bad for players. But I don’t think this is the case, for several reasons. Tout d'abord, players are earning passive income through their five cafes at this point. You’ll also create fonts for most other activities, including through the game’s hobby system. En fait, fishing is an excellent way to make fons. And since a casual outfit requires reaching level 10 in fishing, a lot of people are busy figuring that out anyway.
I’ve already collected over half of the items available in the event in just a few days without spending any real money. Neither the car nor the outfit are there yet, but I’m busy improving my fishing skills. My cafes make money, and of course I can always take part in the bank robbery event (which also includes an outfit and other items).
There is of course another catch when talking about all this. All the fishing, robberies, and everything else to get the Fons is going to take a lot of time, droite? Bien, we have over a month to get it done. Donc, having already crossed seven items off the list of available items, I’m not too worried. While this means I won’t be purchasing the next apartment until I have the items from the event, the apartments will still be there.
And I don’t feel like I have to worry about the event affecting me when I’m trying to land the game’s next character, Chaos, when he drops. Dans l'ensemble, despite the Porsche event, the game’s gacha system doesn’t feel nearly as stressful as many others.
As I mentioned above, I didn’t spend any money on Annulith for either banner. And I doubt I need to do that. That doesn’t mean people won’t do that. But it will be more of a personal call and not something players necessarily have to do to get both a Lacrimosa and the car. Bien, if you decide to have several Lacrimosas. Bien, that’s pretty much always going to cost you.
