Apparemment, Albion Online players have been asking the developers to add dragons to the free-to-play MMORPG for some time now. And all that asking finally paid off. Today Sandbox Interactive announced “Dragonfire,” the new update coming August 31st. This is a “major expansion” for the game that introduces a new realm, new equipment, new battles and even a special (hard to get) mount. And of course there are the dragons.

When the game’s new arc begins, the Ashborn will have completed rituals to raise dragons. Bien sûr, we can’t just leave them alone, so players will track down one particular dragon, Azaryon, in his lair. Access to the lair will not be easy, but those who make it and defeat the Fire Dragon will receive rewards. If you are not up to the fight against the great dragon, you will have to deal with outbreaks on the Royal Continent and the Outlands.

Another side effect of all these rituals is that portals have opened to a new (pour vous) realm known as the Old Lands, where a series of islands float above Albion. Be careful when visiting as these islands are full of drakes. Of course there are also treasures to be picked up.
