Pre-registration for Tree of Savior is open

Today a friend sent me a link to one Post on r/MMORPG It states that a Tree of Savior playerwonan ultra-rare Legend card, “Shining Blue Boruta,” for opening $100,000 worth of Leticia cubes. This happened during a series of Leticia’s Secret Cube that lasted from May 6th to May 19th.

If you’re not sure what this is about, the free-to-play MMORPG held a special rewards event during this period where players received a special item for every 50 dice opened. The prizes were very diverse and consisted of items that players could use in the game.

Fait intéressant, there doesn’t seem to be any news about it on the game’s main page. A part ça, it wouldn’t really surprise me. We’ve seen players spend $10,000 on a single sword in one game. Oui, that’s 10x, but it’s the multiple purchases of smaller items that add up.

Sans surprise, the post sparks discussion about the current monetization practices of free-to-play offerings, as well as playersspending habits. Whatever your opinion on the matter, $100,000 is a lot of money, and I don’t know of any other player who has spent that much on loot box-like items in such a short period of time.

And then of course you have to ask yourself whether it’s worth it if at some point a live service game could be discontinued and you no longer have the item you spent so much money on.
