Over the weekend, Riot Games released a teaser for a new “League Classic” game mode on social media. Exactly what the mode will consist of is currently unclear, as the video in question mentioned several different eras throughout League of Legends’ long lifespan. It could be any of these things. It could be none of them. My personal theory is that this mode will rotate through all the different periods in the free-to-play MOBA’s history, allowing fans to revisit each period. For them, spending a minute and a half listing them all just seems like the best reason.

The good news is that players won’t have to wait long to find out exactly what Riot is up to. According to the tweet, the developers plan to reveal the details during the Mid-Season Invitational. Players just need to watch at 11pm Pacific Time to see it. If you’re a League fan, you’ll probably still watch.

So there you are. If you’ve heard rumors about League Classic, it’s a real thing. You’ll just have to wait to find out what it means.
