About a month ago, NC released its first teaser for a new game called Astrae Oratio. The video does not show any game content and consists of black and white panels with text describing the game’s setting, which happens to be a 1989 version of Tokyo where magic exists and a governing body oversees the laws of that magic.
Since then, they’ve released a story trailer that introduces a little more of the game’s world, and today a character teaser. Beyond these trailers, there’s a bit of information about the game on the official website: a general description of the world and information about some characters. Several story comics were also published.
Today, NC announced that the game, which is apparently coming out sometime this year, will be published by Korean developer Dynamis One, and released a character preview trailer – which includes a bit of gameplay.
From what we can tell, the game appears to actually be a gacha-based action game, which wouldn’t be surprising. What’s more interesting is that the game’s story revolves around magical girls and features an art style reminiscent of 90s anime. Just maybe a little cleaner. It might be interesting for fans of the genre. Of course we have to wait and see. But since we’re halfway through 2026, we shouldn’t have to wait too long.
