Aion 2 Launch Tease

Today we have an update on the status of the sequel to NCSoft’s original Aion MMORPG. Aion 2 will launch in the West later this year. The company hasn’t given an exact date, but based on this fact, I would assume players will get their hands on the game sometime this fall. Of course, this is only assuming they don’t opt for an earlier stealth launch or need to delay it for any reason.

The game, which reportedly features a world “36 times larger than the original Aion,” allows for free flight, dogfights and even underwater exploration. Dogfight will be available in both PvP and PvE.

According to the developers, a lot of work was put into making the global version of the game “suitable for global PC gamers.” NCSoft plans to tell us more about this and the game in general in May, while also answering some questions from the community.

In fact, they answered some of the most important questions in the press release. We now know that the global version of Aion 2 is being developed for PC. We also know that we can expect servers in North America, South America, Europe and Japan. Additionally, the game will be localized into English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Aion 2 will be available for download via NCSoft’s Purple Launcher. However, if you’re a Steam fan, you’re in the clear. The game is even available Wishlist Now. Further information can be found on the Official website of the game.
