Observant old-school RuneScape players may remember that during RuneFest 2025, Jagex announced the Grandmaster Quest, which is intended to bring to a close a 20-year storyline called “The Blood Moon Rises.” The quest that takes MMORPG players to the Vampyrium region for the first time is finally available to those with a membership.

The last time an update to this storyline was released was six years ago with the Sins of the Father quest. Now players will explore a place they’ve always heard of, battle new creatures, and even battle the Maggot King in the latest solo boss encounter. Of course, players will receive rewards for completing the storyline and boss fight, including new weapons.

It is important to note that simply becoming a member does not give you access to the new content. You must have completed the Sins of the Father and A Night at the Theater quests. There are also several skill level requirements – which shouldn’t be surprising since it’s ultimately difficult content. This includes at least 78 Cooking, 74 Berserker, 72 Mining, 72 Blacksmithing, 70 Fletching, 64 Crafting and 57 Magic levels. So check your stats.
