Another Blizzard IP has passed the ten-year mark. At least it will be in just over a week. For a decade, players have been teaming up in the company’s free-to-play hero shooter Overwatch.
With the anniversary just around the corner, the development team has revealed its plans to celebrate the milestone with a three-week celebration. Starting this week, players will be able to experience a different Fallback mode each week. The first week (this week) focuses on Classic (2016). Week two will be Mystery Showdown. And the third week will be Golden (2020). During the event, players must work together to complete challenges and unlock rewards.
Each week, players can earn five Anniversary Loot Boxes – each containing 60 items and no duplicates – as well as Milestone Drops up to Legendary Tier. Items available to players include original roster-inspired skins, 22 exclusive cosmetic items, and a legendary 10-year Cheers Tracer skin.
