Hotta Studio today revealed what’s in store for Neverness to Everness’s version 1.2 update “999 Nights,” which they dubbed “1000 Less 1 Nights,” in the latest special broadcast today. Version 1.2 will be a slight departure from the game’s main story. In fact, it takes place in the future in the game’s timeline. This means that what we’re about to do is technically after version 1.3, which concludes the “Scarlet Letter” story.
In 1.2, Mint will invite the reviewer and two new friends from her department at BAC, CSU-2, who also happen to be the new characters released in this version; Dragon girl Shinku and our little sheep friend from the island, Iroi, play 999 Nights, the latest Anomaly tabletop game. This isn’t just a game of sitting and rolling dice. Instead, players are taken into the game world, assigned to appropriate classes and set off on an adventure.
Essentially, Hotta has taken a break from the ongoing plot of the free-to-play action RPG to immerse us in a fantasy RPG with evil dragons, equipment systems, and NPCs handing out quests. I suspect this detour is partly due to Hotta working to make the changes players want before the next main story update is released.
The board game adventure is intended as long-term content. By playing through, players will receive a special currency that they can use to purchase outfits for Hetherau worn in the board game universe. Once the story is completed, players can go back and play through again, unlocking more areas, story content and side quests, as well as more currency needed to purchase outfits.
Speaking of outfits, some are featured in this update. About a dozen of these will come from the 999 Nights story content. And each of them can be colored. Players can also look forward to a new bike of sorts in the new update. The Draco can fly sideways and become airborne for short periods of time, which should make locomotion even more interesting. Shinku will also be able to ride this bike.
As already mentioned, two of the participants of this board game are the new playable characters of the update. Along with Mint, both are members of the CSU-2. Shinku, the Dragon Girl, is a Cosmos figure with two combat gears and forms that utilizes melee combat.
We have already met the other girl, Iroi. That would be the sheep girl from the island. She is an anima figure who fights alongside three little plush lambs. She is also a supporting character capable of raising characters under the right circumstances. Of course, she can also perform general healing. She also has a special ability that allows her to obtain useful items for petting small animals in the open world.
Shinku will be available starting July 8th when the update arrives. Iroi’s game board will be released on July 29th. As usual with new characters, the game board comes with an outfit, a glider and a vehicle skin. There will also be city clothes and summer outfits for each character.
In addition to the new story content and characters, version 1.2 will introduce new hobby content. The sea fishing hobby is getting a big update for those who want to keep the fish they catch and turn them into pets. Now players can place the fish they catch in tanks around their home. However, you need to care for them properly: make sure the fish are in the right type of aquarium – fresh or saltwater – and that they are in an environment that best suits their temperament. Some fish need to be alone and things like pH balanced. If that seems like a lot, don’t worry. Everything can be automated.
The update also introduces a new Mahjong style and a new decoration feature, Decor Design. The Decor Blueprint allows the player to create decoration blueprints to share with others on Bagel.
Players can also look forward to some quality of life improvements. Optimizations will be made to the appearance of the avatar in the player profile, portable player, and progression menus. A player reporting feature has been added to the racing mini-game. Players can now hide parts of certain character outfits. The recording of Fight Club results has been optimized. And players can now reduce boss fight difficulty after reaching rating level 5.
The update also brings new events. These include a multiplayer auction event where you compete with other players at the auction, a multiplayer hide-and-seek game and a fishing event. Additionally, players who create a character and open the mailbox before version 1.2 is released will receive a special S-Class character selection box, allowing players to choose between one of the six standard S-Class characters: Sakiri, Baicang, Hathor, Fadia, Daffodill, and Jiuyan.
Additionally, the game will also be released on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Galaxy Store when the update arrives on July 8th.
Of course, the stream also included redemption codes. These are: SHINKU0708, 999NIGHTSAnd IROI0729.
