Gloria Victis beta test

It’s been about four months since publisher Gamigo announced it would be bringing back free-to-play open-world medieval MMORPG Gloria Victis. They have been busy working on the game ever since. Now it seems like they are ready to broadcast the game live. In fact, players will have to wait about two weeks before they can get in on June 17th.

Gamigo acquired Gloria Victis after the game was canceled due to the original studio’s closure. And it’s only been four months since they announced his return. That doesn’t mean they rushed it. The game has gone through rounds of testing and the official beta concluded just last month. Additionally, the company appears to have taken into account things that others may not have had in such a situation. As part of the release announcement, the developer revealed that players who purchased premium skins when the original game was live will have the option to restore them. That’s a pretty big deal considering most players probably dismissed it as a loss.

While Gamigo has obviously spent a lot of time improving the game, it’s pretty obvious that they’re not trying to reinvent it. Rather, they worked to make it more similar to what the original players loved. Now let’s see if the game, once the shine wears off after release, attracts new players or just the original players. Either way, I’m sure the original players will be happy to have the game back.
